Exercise your way through nature with Osborne's 5K Off Road Fun Run/Walk.
Starting time is 9:00am in the Pioneer Village. Participants will run 3.1 miles on trails that lead from the Pioneer Village to the Archery Range behind the Osborne Pond. Runners will cross the shallow Volga River twice, winding through forested areas of the park. Participants should plan on getting wet and dirty.
Registration fee: $10 before September 1
$15 after September 1 or the day of the event.
Registration is available the day of the run/walk starting at 8:00am.
Participants will receive a race day t-shirt. Registration forms can be picked up at the Osborne Center, or by going to www.claytoncountyconservation.org.

Effigy Mounds National Monument will continue its tradition of monthly summer bird walks. Birders of all abilities are welcome to join Park Ranger Dennis Kirschbaum at the visitor center at 8:00 a.m.
Visitors are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars, a pencil (checklists will be provided), and water for the hike. Beginning to expert birders are welcome; guided bird walks will be offered once a month throughout the season - July 12, August 23, and September 27.
Effigy Mounds National Monument preserves prehistoric American Indian burial and ceremonial mounds, including some in the shape of animals. The Monument's main entrance is located three miles north of Marquette, Iowa and 22 miles south of Waukon, Iowa on HWY 76.
